Having deities at home is not a game, it's like having a child, and you have to take care of them every day.
It's said that one chooses the standard at home, and yes, one does, but don't everybody wish to please Krishna with the highest standard?
Well, I do have a desire to serve them nicely and when Prabhupada said that it will purify me, then what is holding me back?
Krishna sees our Bhakti (devotion), and as Vaisnavism is Bhakti yoga, except from chanting the holy name, worshipping Krishna at home is wonderful way of developing more and more Bhakti.
Before one gets deities one should worship the picture of Krishna. This will prepare one for having deities, and with a framed picture one does not have to offer water, flowers etc. every day, because Krishna is already getting it on the altar where the picture is from.
But of course to offer these things every day will nourish our Bhakti, and bring us closer to Krishna.
Always remember Krishna and never forget him. The most important instruction.
Here is some darshan pictures from our dear Sri Sri Gaura Nitay this last weeks...
